Strand by Strand Hair Extensions
With this extension technique, small strands of extension hair are attached one by one to small sections of your own hair by either weaving in, gluing, heat fusing, clamping with metal tubes, sewing, hand knotting, or using waxes and polymers. We use either pre-tipped strands or can custom blend/make them in the salon.

This is an AMAZING option for anyone with thinning areas or to repair a spot that was cut too short. This is an innovative strand-on-strand solution to make that thinning part fuller or to hide that balding crown without wigs, toppers or extensions. No glue. No beads. No bulk. No tightening is required and no removal is needed.
This process adds 2, 4 or 6 strands to one growing strand of your own hair by using a hand-tying method that locks the new hairs into place. These will grow out with your existing hair and either shed off or be cut during a typical haircut. The result is undetectable to the naked eye and unfelt by the wearer. You can wash, style, comb, brush and enjoy activities just as you would with your own hair.
The hair is a man-made fiber that withstands heat, is lighter in weight than human hair, and won’t damage or fade like human hair. This hair cannot be colored or bleached. Pricing per session includes up to 600 strands of hair addition, wash, dry and style, and every other session includes a trim.
1 time session- $400. Try it and see if it works for you! Most people require 2 sessions to get full camouflage of their thinning area. This one-time session is also great for “fixing” a bang that was cut too short.
Prepay 1-month package- $700. This includes up to 1200 added hairs over 2 sessions at 2-week intervals.
Prepay 3-month package- $900. This includes 1 session per month for 3 months adding up to 600 hairs per session. This is a fabulous package for someone really wanting to see if this option is good for them. Remember the added hairs won’t ever be taken out but they will shed out as your own hair naturally sheds. Having more added each month will help keep your hair feeling full and your finer areas concealed. This is great for someone with light thinning who isn’t looking for a super full result.
Prepay 6-month package- $3000. This package includes 2 sessions per month at 2 weeks apart and up to 600 hairs per session which is 3600 hairs over a 6-month period. This is a perfect option for someone with moderate thinning or a larger area of extensive thinning, who wants a fuller, thicker coverage. Adding hair every 2 weeks prevents any noticeable loss due to natural shedding. We naturally lose up to 100 hairs per day and it’s only reasonable to assume that some of those hairs will have the added hair attached. When you come in every 2 weeks, we can prevent any loss from being noticed.
Fusion Hair Extensions
Installation starting at $525 – does not include hair
Fusion Hair Extensions means a process of fusing individual strand hair extensions with your own natural hair. These hair extensions are added close to the scalp, throughout your hair. This natural blend of fusion hair extensions helps your hair obtain a natural, beautiful look. This method will last 2 to 5 months. Although we only recommend and guarantee up to 3 months of wearing. The best feature about using this method is the bonds can be custom sized for all hair types and can even be made micro small for use around the bang and hairline area as well as the top of the head.
Micro Link & Shrink Link Hair Extensions
Installation starting at $450 – does not include hair
Both Micro Link and Shrink Link hair extensions are easy to wear and easy to remove. Shrink Links are a bit more durable and tend to slip less but must be completely removed and re-installed. Micro Links may tend to slip a bit more, but they can be adjusted as needed up to two or three times without having to remove the hair completely. Both are used with I-tip hair. Both methods will last up to 3 months. The best feature about using either method is that the hair can be reused up to a year or more if well cared for. For this reason, we recommend purchasing top quality hair.

What are Strand by Strand Hair Extensions?
Strand by strand extensions are any extension technique whereby the extensions are applied in small bundles to small bundles of your own growing hair. These can be keratin fusion extensions, micro bead extensions, nano bead extensions, to name a few. These are also Chemo Girl Extensions.
Who can Wear Them?
Anyone really. There are some exceptions… If you are currently going through a period where your hair is releasing from the scalp in large amounts daily, you should not wear any type of hair extension.
How Long do They Last?
Keratin fusion can last up to 5-6 months, but I only recommend and guarantee up to 3-4 months. Micro beads must be maintained every 6-8 weeks, but the hair can be reused up to a year.
How are They Installed?
Strand by Strand methods can be installed a variety of ways. The common techniques, and the ones we use at Xtend Yourself Salon are
1. Pre-tipped Keratin fusion and custom tipped Keratin fusion. Keratin fusion extensions are applied by “melting” the keratin adhesive with either a heat source or cold wave source. The softened keratin is applied to a small amount of your own growing hair and fused together to create a nearly seamless blend. Highly customizable and can stay installed up to 3-4 months. Sometimes this hair can be re-installed.
2. Micro bead/nano bead extensions are bundles of hair that are added to your own hair using a copper, nickel or aluminum tube or bead where a small amount of your own hair is threaded through the bead along with the extension hair. The bead is then flattened using an extension tool. Can stay installed up to 2 months at which time the beads must be opened and moved up. This hair can be reused up to 6-9 months.
3. Shrink Link extensions are similar to micro bead with the difference being instead of a metal bead or tube the attachment point is a silicon tube that your hair and the extension hair are threaded through and heat is applied to “shrink wrap” around the hairs creating a soft and easy to wear attachment point. This method can remain installed up to 3 months at which point it must be removed and reinstalled. This hair can be reused up to 6-12 months.
What Does it Cost?
The cost of each of these methods can vary depending on a few factors- The length, color and quality of the extension hair varies greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer. I will help you determine which option suits your lifestyle and budget. As for the installation method, the cost evens out between methods over time. Fusion is more initially but you are only doing an install every 3-4 months. Micro bead and Shrink Link hair is more expensive but you are buying it less often, whereas the installation is a bit less expensive, but you are doing an install every 2 months or so.
