I just got back from a two day custom wig making course at Marcella Ellis Studios.  What an amazing learning experience that was.

I got the idea to learn to make custom wigs from volunteering at Ironwood Cancer Research Center’s boutique.  We supply the patients there with donated and new wigs for the chemotherapy patients as well as cutting them and teaching them how to wear the wigs.  I saw that most of the wigs donated were very, very short, and thought I might be able to make some rather inexpensively and give them to the clients.  I am going to look for donated hair and wig bases and make custom wigs for these amazing women! (If you know of anyone who might be willing to donate the hair, let me know…either human or synthetic.)

I am also going to be offering customized wig making services for clients at a markedly lower price than what you might find in the stores for custom sized wigs.  I also now offer hand made, custom, seamless extension. Bring your own hair or choose from Xtend Yourself offerings.  You CAN have it your way!

Soon I will be learning how to ventilate as well and thus truly extend my skills, knowledge and helping hand.   Thank you for taking the time to check out our blog and we hope to hear from you soon!
